Plastic Cashier / Check-out Shields to Battle COVID-19 in Ottawa
CANUS Plastics of Ottawa is stepping up to the front-lines of the battle against COVID-19. As custom plastics fabricators we can precision machine or hand-cut and install shields & barriers at any retail checkout to protect cashiers and customers from spreading the virus. These clear barriers act to limit transmission by airborne means and help limit contamination via touching and handling. While both acrylics (plexiglass) and polycarbonate (lexan) are being used for this already in places, we strongly recommend polycarbonate / lexan only. Polycarbonate / lexan is stronger and will not crack at the holes and corners required for proper installation. It’s a small penalty in cost that is more than worth it in safety and overall effectiveness over time.
