Computerized Numeric Control (CNC)

Computerized Numeric Control refers to the use of computers to control machines. It is possible to program a number of steps that the machine will then perform. CNC allows machines to quickly and easily produce a number of items that will be almost exact replicas of each other. It is possible to control a number of machines and have the product automatically move from machine to machine in order to carry out a pre-programmed multistep process.

CNC is primarily used for machines that perform processes such as cutting or other actions that involve a series of movements. These can be performed on a single machine, avoiding that complexity and expense of programming machines to move items between each machine.
